12 South Farmers’ Market Grand Opening

The Grand Opening of the 12 South Farmers Market is on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. The market will take place from May 2012 through October 2012 every Tuesday from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. The 12 South Farmers market is located at Sevier Park (3000 Granny White Pike).

Urban Grub has Officially Opened!

The much anticipated opening of Urban Grub (Fish Pit and Southern Cantina) has finally arrived. Urban Grub had a soft opening last weekend and is officially open to the public! We’ve all see the construction going on over the past six months and new the creative architecture would be fabulous, well, it is!

Urban Grub is open Tuesday through Sunday from 4:00pm to Midnight with dining beginning at 5:30pm. The 12 South neighborhood just landed another amazing restaurant.

Supper and Song at imogene + willie

Supper and Song is back at imogene + willie in 12 South starting this Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:30pm.

The Supper & Song Event is a series that takes place the third Wednesday of every month through Fall 2012. The FREE monthly event takes place in the backyard of imogene + willie. Everyone is welcome to join, just bring a blanket, what you want to drink and the Mas Tacos truck will be selling food beginning at 5:00pm.

This month, local singer-songwriter, Kate Tucker, will play at 6:00pm with a surprise guest at 7:00pm. Follow @imogenewillie on Twitter for clues as to who the main act will be!

Marathon Party at 12 South Taproom

So, as you probably know, the Country Music Marathon is on Saturday, April 28, 2012! Starting at 6:00am, 12 South Taproom is having a Marathon Party to cheer on runners who run right through 12 South! The event benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

There is a 12 South Development meeting this Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 6:15pm. The meeting will take place at Midtown Fellowship (2415 12th Avenue S). Hosted by Save Our Urban 12th, this neighborhood meeting will address the proposed mixed-use 12 South development to be constructed next to 12 South Taproom.

Leona at Nashville Fashion Week

Be sure to support 12 South’s very own Leona at Nashville Fashion Week. Designer, Lauren Leonard, founded Leona in 2008. Leona clothing is now sold in over 150 retailers nationwide. Leona will be on the runway tonight, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Marathon Music Works.

Chefs Can Save the World

Jeremy Barlow, owner of Sloco in 12 South and Tayst, has published a book called Chefs Can Save the World. The book is about how to make a restaurant “green” and how much of an impact it can have on the food system.

“Chefs Can Save the World is Jeremy Barlow’s call to action for everyone who prepares, serves, consumes or simply enjoys food. We all have a responsibility to pay more attention to what we eat, where it comes from, and how it affects the world around us.”

I know it isn’t even March yet, but the 12 South Farmers Market is gearing up for the 2012 season. The market will take place from May 2012 through October 2012 every Tuesday from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. The 12 South Farmers market will take place at Sevier Park (3000 Granny White Pike) as it did last year.
